Gary Levy MD, FRCP, AGAF, FAASLD, ORDER OF ONTARIO
Dr. Gary Levy (MD) is the Founding Director of the Multi Organ Transplant (MOT) Program at the University Health Network (UHN), and Professor of Immunology at the University of Toronto. He has published over 400 papers and is one of the largest recipients of scientific research funding in Canadian history. While servings as the Director of Transplantation at the University Health Network, Dr. Levy managed billions of dollars in Canadian Healthcare spending over the span of four decades, where he created and grew the Toronto Transplant Program into one of the largest and most successful programs of its kind in the world. In 2015 Dr. Levy was appointed to the Order of Ontario for his contributions to the province in the field of transplantation.

Dr Atul Humar MD, FRCP, Director University of Toronto Transplant Institute
Dr. Atul Humar is the current Director of the University Health Network Transplant Program. He is an infectious disease specialist and an expert in translational research involving viral infections in transplant recipients. His research has focused on molecular evaluation of cytomegalovirus (CMV), molecular diagnostics, clinical pathogenesis and preventative strategies for CMV and other viruses post-transplant. Dr. Humar has received research awards from the American Society of Transplantation and The International Transplantation Society. His work on CMV has been instrumental in the development of the International Transplantation Society guidelines for the management of CMV in transplant recipients. |
Dr David Grant MD, FRCS, Surgical Director University of Toronto Transplant Institute
Dr. David Grant is the Surgical Director of the University Health Network Transplant Program. He has published more than 200 papers and book chapters. Dr. Grant serves on the Advisory and Editorial Boards of Transplantation, Transplantation Proceedings; Liver Transplantation and Surgery; and Transplant International. He performed the first liver-small bowel transplant in 1989; and established and directs the International Intestine Transplant Registry. He is the President of the International Intestine Transplant Society. |
